Portrait of a Graduate
Craftsbury's Portrait of a Graduate is the product of ongoing discussions and reflection involving students, staff, and community. It expresses our shared vision of the skills, abilities and habits of mind we think every Craftsbury student should command by the end of high school. It reflects our community's approach to Vermont's Education Quality Standards. We expect every student to be working toward mastering these skills, abilities and habits of mind as they move through our system. The Craftsbury School Board formally adopted the Portrait of a Craftsbury Graduate as our Ends document in October 2014; it guides decisions and program implementation from Pre-K through grade 12. Institutional Assessment
How do we know we are making progress on the vision articulated in Portrait of a Graduate? The Craftsbury schools participate in various assessments throughout the academic year. The School Board uses the results of these assessments as one of several methods to determine the areas in which our system as a whole is achieving the Ends set out in the Portrait of a Graduate, and to identify areas where the Board might focus its attention and support |
